Why we like it:
The Whitby is part of the Firmdale Group, which is synonymous with elegant design. It’s one of those places where you walk in and think “wow, you’re pretty.” It’s sophisticated English charm in the heart of Manhattan.
When you’re coming into NYC for work, and you need to be in the center of everything, you really can’t beat the location of The Whitby. It’s one of those places where if you are a true new Yorker, this is one of your go-to spots for meetings. The rooms are beautiful, service is impeccable, and food outlets are quality. Power breakfast, cool finance elite, dinner, lunch, drinks, and even afternoon tea – all are chic. It’s a trifecta of everything needed in an objectively quality hotel. And you are steps away from Bergdorf Goodman and Chanel (you know, for between work meetings).
The hotel also comes equipped with its own theater (a screening room and film club), and a holistic body and spa experience.
What to know:
This is a premium hotel with some of the highest room rates in the city. But it’s worth it if you’re willing to pay. The location is great, especially if you are staying in town for work. If you’re looking for more of a downtown vibe, we recommend their sister hotel, the Crosby street hotel.
