Why we like it: If you are looking for a full-service resort, located right in the heart of Yountville, Bardessono is the place to stay. Relaxing rooftop pool? Check. Great spa? Check. Big rooms? Check. Nice fireplaces? Of course. And what’s even better, is that after being a little sauced from wine-tasting all day, you can walk into town for dinner at Bouchons Bistro.
Bardessono prides itself in being environmentally responsible – it’s one of the three Platinum LEED Certified hotels in the US. The hotel also comes fully equipped with a whirlpool tub, a gym (with yoga classes), a free bike-renting service, and sixty-two guestrooms of three categories (spa suites, steam spa suites, and tufa suites).
What to know: People here are not paid to suck up to you with white-glove service and their hotel-school training. This is a genuine, warm California welcome. And while the rooms and the hotel are luxury, it’s not the nicest in Napa – but it sure is the best located (just off Washington St, the main road that runs through Yountville). The price points, while not inexpensive for Napa, are relatively reasonable compared to some of the more premium places to stay in the valley. The breakfast is delicious at Bardessono’s Lucy Restaurant & Bar, but save room for some extra carbs, as you are just minutes away from the best English muffin of your life at Model Bakery.
