The luxury guesthouse that exists today is all thanks to Richard Gere, his former wife Carey Lowell, and Russell Hernandez. In 2007, these three Westchester residents teamed up to rescue, restore and renovate the historic Bedford Post Inn.
Carey Lowell collaborated with Tiffany Vassilakis to design the luxurious yet homely interior. The Runaway Bride movie has a backdrop that’s closer to this gorgeous upstate New York inn as it retains a quintessential small-town feel.
Facilities
There are eight rooms in this high end inn, making it a quiet and tranquil retreat. Guests can choose from five different room layouts: think working fireplace, Frette linens, and terraces that overlook the wooden property.
Each room has a welcoming, old world charm. The en suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated and spacious with several offering countryside views. There is free WiFi and air conditioning in each room.
The Bedford Post Inn has two distinct, elegant fine dining restaurants – The Barn and The Farmhouse. There is an onsite yoga studio, The Yoga Loft, which runs yoga courses for guests. Don’t be surprised if you run into everyone’s favorite rom-com lead doing the downward dog at the yoga studio.
