And here you thought that you could only aspire to drive a Maybach (or at least be chauffeured around in one). Now, Maybach is giving you new goals in life. Aboard their members‑only 500‑foot gigayacht, 72 guests will get the privilege of seeing the world from the lens of Maybach’s venture on the seas.

The Yacht

The brand’s ocean debut comes via the Maybach Ocean Club, a members‑only collaboration with Splendid Sea that gives the superyacht world a distinctly Maybach point of view. They designed the 155‑meter Beyond Horizons as a private members’ retreat, with only a handful of suites, and a service style shaped by Maybach’s signature quiet luxury.

Early details point to only a few dozen suites onboard. The design team styles each suite like a private Maybach salon at sea. Thus, the look is intimate, polished, and unmistakably Maybach. Think lacquered woods, soft‑glow lighting, and that signature Maybach serenity that makes the rest of the world disappear. The interiors come from the brand’s own design team, working with German studio Dölker + Voges to translate Maybach’s aesthetic into open‑water luxury.

The vessel stretches to roughly 500 feet, placing it firmly in gigayacht territory. Maybach’s engineering team designed the yacht for an almost impossibly smooth glide. You’ll barely feel any movement at all, because the yacht’s stabilizers do most of the work. The tech stays behind the scenes – all you’ll notice is the calm, the stillness, and the sense that the ship is drifting rather than cruising. A support vessel shadows longer journeys, giving the yacht freedom to roam far beyond the usual Mediterranean loop.

Dining

The culinary team plans to follow the model previewed at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: that means rotating Michelin‑level chefs, multi‑course tasting menus, and a focus on global ingredients sourced at each port of call. Additional venues include a brasserie and a patisserie. The Maybach Ocean Club reserves several lounges exclusively for members and their guests. The emphasis is on intimate dining rather than large‑scale cruise operations – more boutique hotel than mega‑ship.

Wellness

The wellness deck spans multiple levels, with spa suites, hydrotherapy, cryotherapy, and a fitness pavilion – all part of the brand’s ambition to create a “floating retreat and social hub” for its members. Expect a saltwater pool, hammam, and treatment rooms designed with the same materials and finishes found in Maybach’s flagship sedans.

Membership & Booking

This is where things get complicated. Access to the Maybach yacht is tied to the Maybach Ocean Club, an invitation‑only membership program. Developers are seeking 300 co‑owners, each entitled to several weeks onboard per year. Membership is the primary gateway; non‑members cannot simply book a suite the way they would on Ritz‑Carlton or Four Seasons yachts.

Reports indicate that a small number of suites may be released for select itineraries, depending on availability and seasonality. Therefore, expect pricing to be at the very top of the luxury‑cruise market and will likely sell out immediately.

The Takeaway

Maybach’s move into yachting signals a shift toward automotive‑born hospitality – a tightly curated, membership‑driven model where access is the ultimate luxury. For now, the best chance of stepping aboard is knowing someone with a membership… or becoming one yourself.
